How do I apply for a position at Lincoln Prairie?

In order to be considered for employment with Lincoln Prairie, you must first apply to a position. Lincoln Prairie only accepts applications through the online Career Center. When you find a position for which you want to be considered, click on the position, scroll down, and click “Submit Application.” A new page will load, prompting you to create a profile or log in. If you are new to the system, you must create a new profile.

A webpage will load to allow you to create a profile by entering basic contact information and then uploading a resume. After uploading a resume, you will be prompted to answer pre-screening questions, and then have a final opportunity to review your submission. Please ensure you fully submit your submission after the final review or it will remain as a drafted submission and Lincoln Prairie will not be able to view your information.

Resumes mailed to Lincoln Prairie will be returned to the address listed on the resume with instructions on how to complete an application online.

When am I considered an applicant?

To be considered an applicant, you must apply to a specific position with a complete online application and meet the qualifications for that position.

When can I expect to be contacted about the progress of my application?

Once you submit your application, the system sends an acknowledgement email. If you meet the pre-screening questions, your application will be forwarded to the Human Resources (HR) department. The HR department will review your application, and if HR determines your skills and qualifications best match the needs of the position, HR will contact you for further screening and consideration.

Lincoln Prairie HR attempts to review applications on a daily basis. However, some applications may not reviewed immediately. Please be patient as we work through applications.

How do I check on the status of my application?

For the most up-to-date status of your application, please log into the Career Center. Once logged in, click on the “Career Center’ dropdown menu, and select “Resume submission history.” The status will be listed there.​ Please be patient as we work through applications. HR will contact qualified candidates if positions are available.

What happens to my application once a position has been filled?

Some applications may not be reviewed before a position has been filled. If a position has been filled prior to your application being submitted, you will be notified via email if your application has been closed. If you do not receive an email and your application status continues to show “resume reviewed,” you are still a potential candidate for future employment consideration. Please be patient as we work through applications.

What does the interview process look like?

The interview process varies based on the position which is being recruited. All candidates must meet with Human Resources first. Candidates will also meet with the hiring manager, individually or concurrently with HR, and may complete a tour, visit with the department team members, or complete other interview steps prior to completing the process.

May I apply for multiple positions at the same time?

Yes. Once you’ve created an online Skills Profile, your information is saved in our system. If you find additional jobs you are interested in and qualified for, you can complete a new job search and submit your resume for that role.

Is my application kept confidential?

Yes, all information submitted through the pre-employment process is confidential and will not be shared with anyone outside of the application process. Information gathered is only used for employment purposes.

How do I request a reasonable accommodation?

The Facility is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and any other applicable state and local laws to ensure equal employment opportunity for qualified individuals with disabilities.  Qualified individuals with disabilities are employees or applicants with disabilities who can perform the essential functions of the job they are seeking or hold with or without reasonable accommodations. Reasonable accommodations are modifications to applicants’ or employees’ work environment or schedule that allows them to perform the essential functions of the job they seek or hold unless the accommodations create an undue hardship for the Facility. How do I create an online Skills Profile?

To create an online Skills Profile, you must first apply to a position. If you are interested in a position and match the qualifications, you can follow the “Apply to this job” link on the webpage. You will be asked to create a new account if you are a new user, or log in if you are a returning user. Once you complete your submission, your profile will be saved for future purposes.

How does creating an online Skills Profile benefit me?

Once you are a user in the system, you will increase your value to recruiters searching for a specific skill set. You are able to set up a Job Search Agent, which will notify you automatically when a job meeting the indicated search criteria is posted.  In addition, the system will match our resume to open jobs, listed under the link “Jobs that match your resume.” You will also be able to quickly apply for jobs without re-entering all of your information.

How do I create a Job Search Agent?

In order to set up a Job Search Agent, click on the “Career Center” dropdown menu once you log into the system. You will enter search criteria, and once you submit the criteria, a list of open positions will populate. At the bottom of the page, click the link “Save Search as an Agent.” You will be required to click both boxes and enter a Search Agent Name.  Once saved, the system will automatically notify you when a job is posted matching that criteria.

How do I update my profile?

Once you log in, under the “Career Center” dropdown menu, select ‘Resume.’ From there, you will be able to update your resume and profile with additional information.

What happens if I forget my password to the Career Center?

If a candidate forgets or misplaces their password information to access the Career Center, the candidate can click on the “Forgot my password” link available on the Career Center log in page.  The system will generate a password reset email. Please follow the instructions included in the email.
