Partial Hospitalization Program

Partial Hospitalization Program

Partial Hospitalization for Children & Teens

The Child and Adolescent Partial Hospital Program is designed for individuals between the ages of 12 and 17 who are experiencing emotional, behavioral or mental health problems. The level of treatment at the child and adolescent Partial Hospital Program provides many of the same therapy disciplines and educational components as a traditional inpatient program.

Meanwhile the program also allows the individual to continue working on their treatment in the family and community setting. The Child and Adolescent Partial Hospital Program provides intensive and structured treatment:

  • in lieu of inpatient treatment, or
  • as an effective tool for the transition of a child or adolescent from an inpatient treatment program based upon the individual’s needs

The individual’s participation in the outpatient program usually lasts 10 to 15 days but varies according to the individual needs.

The goal of the Lincoln Prairie’s partial hospitalization program for adolescents and children is to identify and build upon the individual’s strengths and to assist them in returning to an optimal level of productivity.

Every child and adolescent in the program participates in a community group. This group provides time at the beginning of each day to address events of the evening before and to set goals for the day.

The purpose of PHP is to help each individual to better cope with any difficulties which arise outside of the program, utilizing the support system offered by the group. Individuals in the program attend many group sessions which include, but are not limited to:

  • Coping Skills
  • Substance Abuse (outpatient drug rehab)
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Expressive Therapy
  • Health Education
  • Anger Management
  • Effective Communication

The various groups encourage the individual to learn appropriate daily living skills by identifying, exploring and gaining insight into their problems, as well as discovering and developing alternative behaviors. The groups also enable staff to evaluate and assist the individual in their recovery at our treatment center.

Lunch is served on a daily basis.

Why Choose an Outpatient Treatment Program

Our partial hospitalization program for children and teens is designed with the specific needs of your loved one in mind. However, why should you choose an outpatient rehab program for child or adolescent behavioral health and/or co-occurring addiction treatment?

A partial hospitalization program for teens or children provides many of the same treatments and therapies as a residential stay with the added freedom to continue education or familial duties. Child and adolescent PHP also allows the patient to go home each day.

Just a few hours a day throughout the week, a teen or child partial hospitalization program creates and builds on the tools, skills and education they need to succeed while addressing mental health issues or co-occurring drugs and alcohol problems.
