Outpatient Treatment for Children & Teens

Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Health Center provides outpatient behavioral health services for children and adolescents in Springfield, Illinois. Our outpatient programs are designed to address the emotional, social and behavioral needs of individuals experiencing difficulties  across home, social and community settings. 

Your child and your family in our outpatient programs will be meeting with Master’s and Bachelor’s level professionals who will assist them in determining the appropriate level of services your child needs. Customized individual, family and group modes of treatment are always available. Traditional outpatient services are offered Monday through Saturday, including evenings.

Meet Our Outpatient Team

Pediatric mental health treatment and teen and child psychiatric therapies require someone who is passionate about their job and your loved one. We provide adolescent and children mental health therapy for patients ages 6-17 years old. 

Amy Nudo – received a B.A. in Psychology from Benedictine University in Springfield; M.S. in Psychology from Capella University; She is planning to attend Capella University for a PsyD in Clinical Psychology starting in the spring. She’s from Rochester, IL but currently lives in Mt. Pulaski, IL with her husband, four children and four fur babies. She’s excited to be at Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Health Center and is looking forward to growing her counseling.

Child and Teen Outpatient Therapy Groups

Our adolescents and children outpatient therapy groups provide a variety of therapy sessions for a wide population of individuals. 

Outpatient Mental Health for Teens and Children Groups Are Offered Monday-Friday:

  • Medication Management Group ages 3-17
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy Group ages 12-17
  • Anger Management Group ages 6-17

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Counseling

Counseling services are designed around improvement. Our child and teen outpatient mental health facility, located in Springfield, Illinois, provides  mental health therapies with your loved one’s well-being in mind. 

Everyone is different, and no treatment is one-size-fits-all. At Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Health Center, we understand that, and we’re here to help each child and teen with clear goals. 

Goals of the Outpatient Counseling Sessions Are To:

  • Increase individual coping skills and improve day-to-day functioning at home, school, work and in the community.
  • Provide specific education to each individual that will help them deal with the issues of their presenting problems.
  • To assist each child and families in identifying and utilizing community resources in their area.

Individuals Who May Benefit From These Services May Face One or a Combination of the Following Problems:

  • Relationship issues
  • Abuse issues
  • Difficulties with family or peers
  • ADHD
  • Stress associated with trauma
  • Sadness or depression, anxiety or other mental health issues
  • Aggression and oppositional teen and child behaviors
  • Chemical dependency (outpatient substance abuse treatment)

Other Available Inpatient and Outpatient Treatment Programs

Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Health Center offers intensive child or adolescent outpatient mental health services, including a Partial Hospitalization Program and an Intensive Outpatient Program. Additionally:

  • Our treatment center offers inpatient programs for a variety of mental illnesses and co-occurring addiction treatment. 
  • While we do not have psychiatric units specific for substance use treatment like an outpatient addiction treatment center, we do help individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders, too, with a focus on healing the whole person and relapse prevention.
